House Security Systems - Deck Alarm
An outdoor deck alarm offers a valuable option for house security systems.

Sure Action Stress SensorStress sensors offer a viable, stable, reliable security option for securing outside decks.  Stress sensors are invisible.  They mount on the beams under the deck and respond to minute flexes in the deck boards.    Pulsor stress sensors are effective on almost any type of deck structure.  The main prerequisite is being able to access the beams under the deck.  Environmentally-sealed and wired with marine-grade 22-gauge wire leads, Sure Action stress sensors provide optimum outdoor security applications, such as decks, gazebos, pool cabanas, pool decks, and docks.

  • Enhanced Stress Sensors (ENHP+)
Used for almost all deck applications.
    • ENHP+ - one Pulsor stress sensor
    • ENHP6+ - package of 6 Pulsor stress sensors
    • ENHP12+ - package of 12 Pulsor stress sensors

  • High-Performance Stress Sensors (HPP+)
Used very rarely for deck applications.
    • HPP+ - one High-Performance stress sensor
    • HPP6+ - package of 6 High Performance stress sensors
    • HPP12+ - package of 12 High Performance stress sensors
  • Processors - Needed for ENHP+ or HPP+ (Outdoor Applications such as roof or deck)
MG111 or MG313 Processor.  The MG111 Processor has one zone.  The MG313 has three zones.  Up to 4 stress sensors can be wired per zone.

Outdoor Security for House Alarms

When people think of house security sytems, they most likely think of protecting  the interior of the building.  They may not initially consider securing the outside as well.

Sure Action Stress Sensors for Outdoor Applications

Stress sensors provide ideal security coverage for decks.  They can be used to trigger an alarm to chase an intruder or activate a sounder to announce a guest.  Lights and video cameras can also be activated.  Stress sensors have also been used to trigger an annunciator to notify adults if small children wander unattended onto a deck, especially one near a pool.  Stress sensors can also be installed to secure smaller buildings and gazebos located on a property.

Deck Security Design

As with other stress sensor applications,  the sensors are mounted underneath the support beams.  Each sensor should be covered wtih foam insulation to protect it from wind.   Sensors will not false due to rain, sunlight, and snow.

Sensors should be placed in key locations:  at the top of staircase, near key doors and windows,  in high traffic areas.  An even number of sensors should be installed.
